He was a man, take him for all, in all. I shall not look upon his like again.

Dave, you had a way of making the world feel brighter just by being in it. Funny, handsome, and effortlessly charming, you drew people in without ever trying. Your laugh - full, joyful, ever so slightly cheeky and completely infectious - could lift a room in seconds. I can still hear it in my mind, and smile when I do.

A wonderful friend to many, but what set you apart, for me, was how deeply you listened. With wide-eyed curiosity and genuine care, you made people feel truly seen and heard. Conversations with you felt easy and safe, whether they were full of laughter or quiet honesty. You had a rare gift for presence, and those moments will stay with me always, from our time in Hong Kong to reliving the "old days", some 30 years later!

You leave behind so much love, warmth, and connection. You will be deeply missed, endlessly remembered, and forever part of our hearts. What makes me sad is I don't think you had any idea just how loved you were! Hopefully, now you do, and that brings a little comfort in a darker day.

Until we meet again, my friend, thank you for the laughter and for being just plain old amazing you!

“Some souls leave the world quieter, but leave our hearts fuller.”
